City moves to explore canal water testing and grant options after Key West agreement noted

Bartus said staff is exploring an EPA grant and SWIG technology to support canal cleaning and testing; Commissioner Harding suggested involving South Florida Water Management given nearby monitoring in Vaca Cut.
Mayor Freddie Foster expressed concern about being excluded from county testing and stressed the importance of securing appropriations and legislative support for larger canal or street projects. The Commission agreed to have City Administrator Bartus move forward to pursue testing options and potential grant funding.
