Council adopts resolution to place delinquent sewer-only charges on property tax rolls

At a public hearing on delinquent sewer-only accounts, Finance Director Linda Weaver told the council that notices were mailed at the start of the month and an updated list removed accounts paid by noon the day of the hearing. "This is something we do every July," Weaver said, explaining that when sewer service is provided without water service the city cannot shut off service and instead follows a statutory process to place unpaid charges on property taxes.
After hearing no public objections, Council member Jason Greenough moved to adopt Resolution No. 2026-53, which the council approved unanimously. The resolution directs the city to provide the approved list to the county for placement of charges on property tax bills.
