The Key Colony Beach City Commission approved the 100% design drawings for the City Hall project during the special meeting on Aug. 18, 2025. Mayor Freddie Foster moved to approve the drawings and the motion passed by unanimous rollcall.
Commissioner Harding requested that smoke detectors be included in the project scope, noting Marble Hall and the Post Office are not currently connected to the fire alarm system. Hardings also asked for a 220‑volt, 30‑amp electrical line to be added to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and routed to the Police IT closet to avoid a future change order; architect Brandan DeCaro confirmed that the line and additional internet capability could be added at the commission’s direction. Brandan also described the card access system’s ability to restrict door access.
