The Finance, Legal and Public Safety Committee considered part two of a two-part application to permit retail off-sale wine and cider at a new Dollar General store and voted to forward the application to City Council with a recommendation of approval.
“This is part 2 of the application, to enable them to sell wine at that same location,” Marco Laughlin, business license and development specialist, said when summarizing the request. “Staff recommends approval of this one as well.”
A committee member moved to approve the wine-and-cider license application as presented and forward it to a future council meeting with a recommendation; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote.
Council consideration will follow; the committee recorded no public opposition during the meeting.
