The Finance, Legal and Public Safety Committee voted to forward a new retail off-sale malt beverage license application for Dolgen Midwest LLC doing business as Dollar General Store No. 30314 to the City Council with a recommendation of approval.
“This is just for their malt beverage license,” Marco Laughlin, business license and development specialist, said when describing the first part of a two-part application on behalf of the applicant. “Staff recommends approval.”
A committee member moved to approve the application as presented and forward the item to a future council meeting with a recommendation of approval; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote.
The application covers off-sale beer and wine for a new Dollar General location; the second part of the application — a wine-and-cider license — was handled separately during the meeting.
