City staff recommended entering an interagency agreement with Sutter County to host the city's GIS layers on the county system and allow Yuba City staff remote access and editing of city layers while the county maintains the host environment. Doug Libby said the county system includes current parcel and ownership data that the city could use without duplicating effort, and that certain critical-infrastructure data would remain confidential and not be made public.
Libby summarized costs: "Year 1, the cost to the City would be just over $25,000 and this includes initial setup. Years 2 and 3 would be just over $17,000 each year." He also said the costs would be covered by existing fees collected in the building-permit program. The council voted to approve the agreement and authorized the mayor to sign; Libby noted the Board of Supervisors is scheduled to consider the county side of the agreement on July 28.
