From all engagement, staff distilled five foundational themes: affordable housing; fostering diverse economic vitality (including restaurants and groceries); community well‑being and events; nature‑integrated recreation (trails/sidewalks); and prioritizing sustainable infrastructure and maintenance. Staff said the engagement results informed the guiding principles and visual examples in the draft plan intended to encourage walkable, mixed‑use development rather than sprawling strip malls.
Staff asked commissioners to review chapter content with engagement feedback in mind and noted additional public events will be scheduled as part of the multi‑meeting review process.
