Council approves operations and maintenance agreement for Box event center

The Box Elder City Council approved an operations and maintenance agreement to allow BID #3 funds to flow to Box O and M LLC, the entity responsible for operating and maintaining the Box event center.
The city attorney explained the pass-through arrangement originated at the request of local hotel owners in the business improvement district to help offset annual operating losses at the event center. "This is the agreement that allows for the pass through of the bid number 3 funds to flow from the city to the Box O and M," the city attorney said. Council member Davis moved approval and the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
The approval authorizes the mayor to sign associated documents so the BID funding can be used to support event-center operations as outlined in the agreement.
