The Box Elder City Council approved two off-sale alcohol licenses for a new Dollar General store planned at Fox Veil and Box Elder Road.
Marco Laughlin, the city’s business license and development specialist, told the council the location would be “a good benefit to the community” and recommended approval of both a retail on-premise malt-beverage license (off-sale) and a retail wine and cider license for Dollar General Store 3314. Laughlin said both licenses are for off-sale purposes only. The council held public hearings on both licenses and recorded no in-person, online, or email comments before placing the items on the consent agenda.
The licenses were included in the consent agenda recommended by the finance committee and were approved by roll-call vote as part of that package. Mayor Madnaud closed the hearings and the city will proceed with the licensing process and final paperwork required for issuance.
