City Administrator reported that certified letters were mailed to property owners Robert T. & Jennifer K. Gartner and Allen Escolas informing them of a public hearing set for Jan. 9, 2025 regarding the buildings at 518 and 520 S. Huston. The resolution for the public hearing was sent for publication as required, and staff indicated continuing follow-up.
The administrator's report also recorded an "estimated loss for the fire at 65,000 gallons." The minutes show the city evaluated demolition options for the old fire department building and solicited a demolition bid from B3 Construction; staff continue to pursue bids for repairs and next steps related to the downtown fire properties.
