Altamont council appoints new police officer and names Cody Dickerson fire chief
Summary
The council appointed Bridgette Pattison as an Altamont police officer (started Oct. 21) and approved Cody Dickerson as fire chief. Dickerson has served with Altamont since 2012 and previously served in Oswego.
The council approved two public-safety appointments during its Oct. 24 meeting. Mayor Richard Hayward formally appointed Bridgette Pattison as an Altamont Police Officer and the council voted to accept the appointment; minutes note Pattison began work Oct. 21. Pattison graduated from LCHS (class of 2004) and holds a criminal justice degree from LCC.
Hayward also appointed Cody Dickerson as Altamont Fire Chief; the council approved the appointment. Minutes state Dickerson has been with the Altamont Fire Department since 2012 and served four years with Oswego’s Fire Department before that, including five years in a captain position with Altamont prior to the appointment.
Council acceptance of both appointments was recorded as "motion carried" in the minutes; no roll-call tallies were provided. The appointments were introduced during the personnel section of the agenda and moved forward without further public comment recorded in the minutes.
