Altamont police report: citations, KBI reports and training scheduled

Chief Michael Shields submitted the Aug. 22 police report showing six warnings (five for speeding, one for driving left of center) and six citations including 25 for speeding and one for driving while suspended. The department issued a citation for a dangerous dog after a dog bite and submitted a KBI report and arrest for disorderly conduct; Shields also reported a KBI report related to theft of equipment at Labette County High School.
Shields said officers have been active with patrol duties and community relations and are preparing for the new school year. Administrator LeaAnn Myers also told the council that officer Taylor Mahan is scheduled to attend the police academy at the end of the month.
