Council renews Neighborhood Revitalization Program; budget hearings set for August

The Altamont City Council voted to renew the Neighborhood Revitalization Program and noted budget hearings and a notification to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate with hearings set for Aug. 22; a separate public hearing on Aug. 8 was also scheduled.
Councilmember Ben Cochran moved and Kyle Wiford seconded to renew the Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP); the motion carried at the July 25 meeting. The minutes record that a public hearing will be held at 6:45 PM Thursday, Aug. 8 at City Hall related to associated matters.
City Administrator LeaAnn Myers also reported that the 2025 municipal budget had been submitted to the Labette County Clerk along with notification to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate; municipal budget hearings and the exceedance hearing were scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, at 6:45 PM prior to the council meeting. The council will consider the budget and any related rates at those hearings.
