Construction on Deerfield 1888 Building on track for November completion despite roofing subcontractor change

Rob Todisco of P3 told the Deerfield Municipal 1888 Building Advisory Committee on June 9 that all rough-in work on the 1888 Building has been completed and finish work is underway. He said the project remains on track for substantial completion in November, with the schedule possibly extending into early December depending on final sequencing.
Todisco reported that the original roofing subcontractor was terminated for performance issues but that the building remains weather-tight and the general contractor, W.J. Mountford, is seeking a replacement roofing subcontractor. Committee members discussed switching from the specified standing-seam metal roof to asphalt shingles but reached consensus to retain the metal roof because of its long-term durability and compatibility with the planned solar installation. The committee directed staff and the contractor to develop an updated schedule once a new roofing subcontractor is secured.
