Mix said, “I accept the nomination.” Mr. Johnson called the roll and each councilor voted in favor.
Councilors who spoke in support cited Mix’s leadership development and experience with the League of Oregon Cities program. The council agreed to defer the formal swearing-in to the next meeting so that the oath can be performed with family present. The appointment completes the term left by former mayor Rod Cross and officials said staff will distribute any outstanding files and ongoing project lists Cross had been managing.
