Public Works Director Bruce Martin presented a proposed ongoing maintenance contract with Solar Sound Corp to provide monthly maintenance for 153 city-owned streetlights. Martin said the first-year cost under the 60-month contract is $6,885, with years two through five as option years and a 2% price escalator in option years. "Some of the things that wouldn't be included in an agreement would be wiring within the poles or in the bases or underground conduits," Martin said. Committee members confirmed the contract term and asked about termination penalties; Martin explained there is a penalty for early termination equal to the remaining months times the monthly cost, which he quoted in the transcript.
A committee member moved to approve the professional services agreement with Lighting Maintenance, aka Solar Sound Corp, as presented for the 2025 streetlight service contract and forward it to a future City Council meeting with a recommendation of approval; the motion carried by voice vote.
