Committee approves $70,300 design agreement for West Sunnydale Road reconstruction

City Engineer Scott Lang told the committee that the council's loan request for $2 million to fund West Sunnydale Road reconstruction was approved and recommended advancing engineering now so the road work can occur this year.
Lang recommended Hermanson Eggi for design services and noted the city could end the agreement if the council later decides not to accept the loan. "So it's our recommendation we move forward with Hermanson Eggi for that $70,300," Lang said. The committee moved to approve the professional services agreement with Hermanson Eggi for $70,300 to design the reconstruction and forwarded it to a future City Council meeting with a recommendation of approval.
The recommendation allows pre-construction engineering to progress in parallel with final loan acceptance by the council; staff said the agreement can be terminated if the council declines the loan.
