Committee approves voluntary right-of-way donation easement with property owner for Bennett Road project

City Engineer Scott Lang told the committee he and engineering staff worked with Barrows Engineering to locate and meet with property owner Rodney Ballmer to secure a voluntary right-of-way donation for the Bennett Road project.
Lang said the easement signing on-site took only about 30 seconds once Ballmer reviewed the document, and that a right-of-way certificate will accompany the agreement so the state will know the city has all needed easements before bidding. "The easement took about exactly, 30 seconds once he got the piece of paper in his hand," Lang said.
A committee member moved to approve the agreement for voluntary right-of-way donation easement with Rodney Ballmer and to forward it to the City Council with a recommendation of approval; the motion was seconded and carried. The easement acceptance will allow staff to proceed with recording and advance the Bennett Road project toward bidding.
