Bruce Martin presented a proposal for a one-year lease of two Frost Solutions mini weather stations, each equipped with cameras and road sensors to detect ice formation, visibility and surface temperatures. Martin said the devices help deploy de-icing equipment more effectively and noted the purchase was included in the FY25 streets budget for $6,000.
During follow-up questions, Martin confirmed the ongoing cost would be $3,000 per station per year (lease and software subscription). The committee moved, seconded and approved forwarding the master services agreement with Frost Solutions LLC for two mini weather stations to a future city council meeting with a recommendation of approval.
