Mr. Baus: district has 72.5 open positions, including 23.5 teacher vacancies

He provided categorical breakdowns for other shortages: two school psychologists, two speech-language pathologists, seven behavior technicians, 19 food-service openings and 11 plan-operations positions (including seven crossing guides and four custodians).
Baus said two school psychologists are rehired and "we'll be getting those at the next board meeting, on the 24th." He told members the applicant-tracking system records time-to-fill data but he did not have the figures at the meeting and offered to email them to the committee later. Baus said the district is still reconciling transfers and will report updated openings to the full board in August.
