Policy committee forwards consolidated surveillance policy and requires a public hearing on bus audio recording

The chair emphasized statutory constraints: "before a board passes a policy authorizing audio recording on school buses, RSA 570‑A 2 k[sic] of the state's criminal wiretapping/eavesdropping statute requires that the board conduct a public hearing on the proposal," and the committee agreed the required hearing must be noticed separately from the regular public comment period.
The chair moved to send the consolidated policy to the full board and to ask the superintendent to schedule the required public hearing; Mr. Johnson seconded and the committee approved the motion by voice vote. The committee also moved to rescind EEAA (the district's previous video and audio surveillance policy) because its provisions have been incorporated into the new ECAF draft.
