The Deerwood City Council appointed Cris Kreger to fill a vacant council seat at its May 11 meeting. Clerk Samantha Wodarz said the city received one letter of interest—"they received one letter of interest for the open vacancy from Cris Kreger"—which was advertised in the Crosby Courier and posted online. Member Voller moved and Member Ingersoll seconded the appointment; the motion carried unanimously.
Kreger's term will expire Dec. 31, 2026. Clerk Wodarz handled the application materials and the council did not record any objections to the appointment.
