Bill would redefine CIAC membership and expand quarterly oversight of major projects, staff says

"The legislature specifies in statute the membership of the CIAC, but until now, they've been very non‑prescriptive," Brower said, adding that under the proposed language CIAC would develop performance measures and report regularly to provide more consistent oversight. He noted the bill defines major projects as those over $250,000,000 and estimated only a handful of projects would meet that threshold, prompting committee discussion about whether elected local officials would continue to be represented on the committee and how local scope changes would be reviewed.
