As part of the Master Plan technical update, staff identified a set of small street segments near downtowns for reclassification or removal to match the Pedestrian Master Plan and the Complete Streets design guide.
Council staff listed the segments proposed for removal or reclassification under Recommendation 5.a: DuPont Avenue in Kensington, Elton Road in Hillandale, Rosedale Avenue in Bethesda, and Walsh Street in Chevy Chase. Staff described these as technical cleanups to ensure downtown boundaries and street types align with recent pedestrian and area plans. The committee accepted the technical cleanup recommendations without objection and agreed to move remaining technical items to follow-up discussion with MCDOT where appropriate.
