Facilities staff updated the board on the Environmental Services building elevator project, saying structural work at the second-floor opening is complete and the elevator manufacturer has taken measurements and begun fabrication. Joel Morgan told the board "the opening to the 2nd floor has been cut. The beam was put in place. The block has been set up on the 2nd floor," and reported Aerolift had completed on-site measuring and the elevator had been released for factory construction. He said shipment of the elevator is likely in late September into October.
Morgan explained the project experienced permitting delays related to clarifications on the elevator components, which pushed work later than originally scheduled, but contractors were able to keep the county on their schedule. He also noted flooring identified during the pre-walkthrough will be replaced within the existing budget and that fairgrounds electrical work (transformers and panels) is scheduled for Aug. 3–7. The board received the update and thanked facilities staff for the progress report.
