City staff clarified during the commission meeting that the City of Atchison is not under a boil-water advisory; the advisory applies to Rural Water District No. 5. "The City of Atchison is not under a boil advisory," Clinton McNamee told commissioners, adding that the boil advisory he was aware of affects a rural water district west of town.
McNamee also passed along a notice that a Neighborhood Revitalization Program workshop will be held Monday, Oct. 27 at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall to discuss projects with the county, school district and local developers. He warned that the city's online portal is intermittently not forwarding special solid-waste pickup requests and asked residents to call the city shop at 367-5561 until the issue is resolved.
