Council OKs water-level gauge on Little Fork River bridge after emergency-management request

Josh Brinkman, St. Louis County Emergency Management coordinator, informed the council a grant had been requested on the city's behalf to install a water-level gauge on the Little Fork River bridge that will feed a monitoring program. The gauge is intended to provide real-time data to St. Louis County Emergency Management, the National Weather Service, City of Cook maintenance staff and the public.
Councilor Liza Root moved and Councilor Ivette Reing seconded approval of the installation; the motion carried. Clerk/Treasurer Dawn Kehoe confirmed the arrangement and the council authorized installation per the grant request.
