Council approves artisan and local vendor presence at Wednesday Music in the Park

Representatives from the Cook Farmers Market, Northwoods Friends of the Arts and the Cook Chamber asked the council to permit vendors during Wednesday Music in the Park. The groups proposed vendors set up by 4:30 p.m. and remain until 7:00 p.m., occupy space behind the music area and along mural-adjacent alleys, and be limited to handmade craft items or vegetables grown within 30 miles. The Cook Chamber agreed to sponsor the program and a $50/season fee will be handled through the city clerk.
Councilor Liza Root moved and Councilor Ron Bushbaum seconded the motion to accept the vendor arrangement as outlined; the motion carried. The council directed the Clerk/Treasurer to coordinate logistics and memberships and to ensure vendors comply with the membership requirement for NWFA or the Farmers Market.
