Pitt County Board of Adjustment approves prior minutes, reappointment and officer elections; continues Tucker Farms variance

The Pitt County Board of Adjustment met Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, in the Eugene James Auditorium and was called to order by Chairman Rita Jackson-Gilbert at 5:30 p.m. The board approved the minutes from its Jan. 28, 2025 meeting by unanimous vote after a motion recorded as made by Mary Holdeman and seconded by Jackie Hinton.
Staff reported that the Pitt County Board of Commissioners reappointed Wanda Wynne (North of the River) to the Board of Adjustment, with a term expiration of February 10, 2028. The board then elected officers: Molly Holdeman nominated Rita Jackson-Gilbert for chair and Jackie Hinton nominated Wanda Wynne for vice-chair; both were elected with no further nominations. Planning staff also advised that the variance request for Tucker Farms, Inc., represented by Mike Baldwin of Baldwin Design Consultants, P.A., was continued to the March 24, 2026 meeting after a unanimous motion to continue. The meeting adjourned at 5:38 p.m.
