A property manager and patrol officers authenticated multiple security clips from the Virginia Estates (now Virginia Flats) complex that prosecutors say capture the March 27, 2022 incident.
Shavondalyn Janelle Scott, regional manager for ITEX, testified she requested and reviewed footage from the property's cameras and that the clips include timestamped images. "03/27/2022, 1831. 06:31PM," she told the court while identifying the first clip. She identified a red Cadillac pulling into a parking spot, two individuals walking across a courtyard toward the parking area, a later clip in which people run away from a vehicle, and a subsequent clip showing EMS and police arriving as a driver collapsed.
Officer Michael Ballard, testifying about his body‑worn camera and on‑scene observations, confirmed the parking lot and adjacent park were visible and that children and families were present nearby when officers arrived. Ballard said officers and EMS attempted to render aid and later transported the victim. The defense cross‑examination challenged some interpretations of movement and timing but did not dispute the authenticity of the published clips.
The prosecution published multiple clips to the jury; counsel highlighted that simultaneous camera timestamps across angles corroborate the chronology of arrivals, interactions and the emergency response. The videos are now admitted for juror consideration as fact evidence authenticated by the property manager and responding officers.
