The Reporter said the existing islands at the intersection have already been removed and crews "are going to be reconstructing the right turn lanes to help traffic move more efficiently through the intersection." Pedestrian-focused upgrades are also planned: "Audible crosswalk buttons are being installed, along with some improved curb ramps and travel paths for anyone walking," the Reporter said. These changes, the Reporter added, are "part of the city's ongoing work to make key corridors safer, more efficient, and easier to navigate."
