"We haven't seen that so far... the zoning code was released last night along with maps," said a Cornerstone representative who asked for additional meetings and time for community participation.
Several tenants described poor apartment maintenance that includes mold, pests and plumbing failures and asked the council to act. "We've been paying our rent month after month... and now they're telling me that I'm two months behind," one resident said, asking for city assistance. Washington Square residents asked for a status update on negotiations and additional funds needed to preserve a park property, noting the purchase is time sensitive.
City staff and council members responded that staff will follow up proactively, that the planning department is scheduling study sessions and one‑on‑one meetings, and that the city manager would contact constituents about the tenant complaints promptly.
