Trustee Laura Pep said she learned about the issue through local outreach and county‑level education efforts and explained that Wisconsin law provides a process to record repudiations on land records. She noted that the Realtors Association has a grant to cover recording costs in some cases and encouraged staff to prepare a short newsletter article explaining how residents can check whether their property is affected and request repudiation assistance.
The resolution passed on a voice vote.
