Becky Frisbie introduced a proposed new family and consumer science textbook (Child Development: Early Stages through Adolescence from Goodheart‑Wilcox Publishing) and said the district would purchase copies and online teacher resources for secondary classrooms at an estimated cost of $8,244.28 from the secondary curriculum budget.
Superintendent Hoyer also presented first readings of three policies: 1401 (records available to the public), which includes fee language tied to statute and an example $25/hour figure; 2151 (interscholastic activities), which clarifies risk language and references air‑quality restrictions; and 5324 (personnel leave), which clarifies jury duty, witness subpoenas and related leave. Board members were asked to review the materials and the items will return for further consideration in August.
