The planning commission approved annexations N26‑07 and N26‑08 to bring three parcels fronting West Wade Hampton Boulevard into the city for corridor commercial use. Staff said the parcels would be combined for a single development and that, because they abut residential areas, buffers will be required during subsequent site plan review. The commission heard from civil engineer Mike McNabb (speaker 15), who said a TIA had been submitted to SCDOT and that the preliminary site plan provides for right‑in/right‑out access on the relevant roads and shared access agreements with an adjacent bank.
No public speakers opposed the annexation at the hearing. Staff noted a Traffic Impact Analysis will be required before final site plan approval and that the project will need to address required buffers adjacent to residences. The commission moved, seconded and voted to approve the annexations.
