Maple Bluff board approves new pavilion, authorizes demolition plan

The Maple Bluff Board of Trustees voted to permit construction of a new pavilion at the Maple Bluff Country Club, approving plans to replace the existing 1956 cinder‑block restroom/snack building with a modern pavilion that will include improved restroom facilities and a snack-bar area but no commercial kitchen.

A presenter for the country club told the board the design increases stall count and adds two storage closets (one for utilities and one for general storage) and that the new facility would be built while the existing building remained in use; the club will file a separate demolition permit when the new structure is operational. "We want to replace the building that's there, which is a cinder block era 1956 building," the presenter said, noting the existing building "is showing its age." The presenter also said the new facility will have a 2‑inch water feed to the village main (up from the existing 1‑inch) and intends to reuse the existing 4‑inch sanitary sewer line after inspection and any required cleanout upgrades.

Trustees asked for clarity on siting, visibility and color options; the presenter said two siding color options ("snowcapped white" and "weathered walnut") remain under consideration and that the building board had provisionally approved both colors so the club could finalize materials. A motion to approve the project carried without extended debate.

The board did not set a demolition date at the meeting but the presenter said the club intends to demo the old building in the fall after the new pavilion is in service and that required permits will be submitted for that separate action.
