Board approves OE8 monitoring template revisions and finds OE9 communications report in compliance

The board voted unanimously to approve administration’s recommended revisions to OE8, a monitoring template intended to better align indicators with policy language and to consolidate redundant measures. Administration explained changes including combining measures related to significant media coverage and rewording “zero complaints” language to require "timely updates to the board of education upon anticipated significant media coverage." The motion to approve the OE8 changes passed on a roll‑call vote.
In a separate monitoring report the superintendent and staff presented OE9, covering communication with the public and stakeholders. The report highlighted a Facebook reach of more than one million, weekly media outreach, district visioning outreach (2,299 survey responses and 284 focus‑group participants), and mechanisms for two‑way feedback with parent groups and community partners. After discussion the board concluded the superintendent and district are in compliance with OE9 and approved that finding by roll‑call vote.
Both votes were recorded by roll call with all present trustees voting in the affirmative. Administration said future monitoring reports will continue to refine indicator language and reporting formats.
