Board approves R3 monitoring changes on involved citizenship

The La Crosse Board of Education voted Nov. 4 to approve recommended changes to Results Policy R3, "Involved Citizenship," after a brief presentation by district leadership.
Dr. Engle introduced the item and said the revisions update definitions and indicators to better reflect reasonable growth expectations. "We discussed removal of interpretations and updates to definitions to provide for reasonable growth," a presenter said during the item. The motion to approve the changes was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
Board members offered no substantive objections during the discussion. Staff said the changes align monitoring language with current practice and that the board will continue to review monitoring evidence at subsequent meetings.
