Commission sets weekly schedule and plaque for senior center's 25th anniversary

The Commission on Aging approved a program and publicity plan for the Marlborough Senior Center's 25th anniversary during the July 21 meeting. Commissioners assigned responsibilities for week-by-week themes and outreach: Aug. 4 (Deb to introduce the event), Aug. 11 (Dianne to coordinate the band), Aug. 18 (Donna M. to handle activities), Aug. 25 (Barbara to present the center's history), Sept. 1 (Peggy to discuss growth of the senior population and programs), Sept. 8 (Donna K. open invite), Sept. 15 (Shoshana open invite). A plaque will be ordered to present to the first senior center director and staff will prepare a display at town hall.
The commission also confirmed a shared table with the senior center at Marlborough Day on Aug. 23 to promote the anniversary and the center's programs. Some ancillary items (a tag sale and updated goals from a July special meeting) were tabled for future meetings.
