Selectmen ask town manager to draft e-bike/e-scooter ordinance, table discussion to Aug. 4
Summary
The board requested an ordinance focused on Marlborough to address e-bike and e-scooter safety and asked the Town Manager to consult the constable; discussion was tabled to Aug. 4.
Chair Susan McFarland asked Town Manager David Porter to draft town-specific ordinance language regarding e-bike and e-scooter safety. Porter said he would send a community letter outlining rules and consult the Town Constable about enforcement language and potential stepped-up enforcement. Selectman Anthony Bratz specifically asked the constable how the town could increase enforcement.
The board voted to table further discussion on the ordinance to the Aug. 4 meeting to allow Porter to return with suggested verbiage and constable input.
