On energy, the district reported net savings of $256,000 for the year and $176,000 in utility rebates tied to efficiency measures; Jeff Olson and staff said they received a Focus on Energy efficiency award. Laviena also introduced a new vape‑alert report: "If you look at the vape report at Central there was 287 alerts. 163 of those alerts were during the school day," he said, noting Logan reported an even split of alerts during vs. after school.
Board members asked about access control logs, visitor systems and safety drill practices; staff noted 100% controlled entry during student‑occupied hours and regular inspections and correction of fire‑department findings. The board voted to accept the OE‑12 facilities report as compliant for the reporting period.
