The superintendent reflected on accomplishments during their tenure, saying the district had turned around Priority One schools and earned state recognition. "We were winners of the gold star award from the state and the Silver Star Award from the state," they said, and thanked staff and administrators for their work. The superintendent also said they will "miss" the students and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to oversee the children of the community.
Board members responded with appreciation and surprise. Several speakers thanked the superintendent for improvements in maintenance and academic work and noted the difficulty of the job.
