Local education foundation reports $470,000 directed to district programs in 2025

A representative of the Lacrosse Public Education Foundation told the board that LPF directed more than $470,000 in 2025 to support students, educators and schools in the La Crosse School District. “During the 2025 calendar year, LPF played a role in directing over $470,000 to support students, educators, and schools in the school district of La Crosse,” the presenter said, and highlighted $95,000 in Goldstar grants awarded to classroom projects.
The foundation also said community fundraising supported solar projects on multiple schools, citing roughly $548,000 raised between 2020 and 2026 that enabled solar installations with district staff time contributing to implementation. LPF noted $175,000 given to targeted program needs (literacy, music, physical education, mental health and field trips) and encouraged nominations for the Golden Apple awards through April 2 and attendance at a May 5 Thank a Teacher breakfast. Board members thanked LPF for its partnership and praised the foundation’s role in amplifying educator ideas and student opportunities.
