District reports CSI award of about $105,000; Title II spending deadline flagged

At the meeting, Dr Kam reported that the district's CSI application has been approved and that "we have been approved for our CSI that's about 105,000 that we have been approved and needs to be spent this school year." She said principals have been given expendable amounts and the district will use those funds this year for tutoring, supplemental instructional services, professional development and field trips.
Dr Kam also said Title I, Title IV, CTE and IDEA-B awards have been accepted and approved; she is still awaiting feedback on Title II. "I have already received an email that by December those title money needs to needs to be spent down to 50%," she said, and urged principals to plan purchases and activities to meet that requirement. The district indicated it will present consolidated first-quarter data and progress reports in November.
