District leadership told the board it will host a 'youth mental health first' certification training on December 6 that is open to staff and board members.
"We have about 17 staff members who signed up for that for the mental health first," said Dr M, noting an additional five to six staff will take refresher courses. The district also reported that three students are completing a PID internship and will begin providing peer support services starting December 2.
Board members discussed staff participation and the training schedule for the next semester. No changes to policy were proposed; the training and the student-internship rollout were presented as part of ongoing staff development and student-support efforts.
