Board drafts WASBY resolution seeking uniform accountability for publicly funded 3K/4K programs

The presenters said they pulled language that already exists in WASBY materials where possible to increase the proposal's acceptability.
Board discussion focused on practical considerations: whether districts with different models would propose amendments at the delegate assembly, the role of WASBY's rules committee, and coordination with state representatives. Mr. Ma told the board the change was meant to protect the La Crosse model for four-year-old programming that integrates child-care providers and preschools with district offerings; he said the new state budget's movement of funds could otherwise undercut that local approach.
The board approved forwarding the proposal to the delegate process (motion carried by voice vote). Presenters and several board members asked that administration monitor the WASBY rules committee and report back on any edits or recommended advocacy steps before the state convention.
