Gregory Chamber, library and police report holiday events and routine operations

The Gregory Chamber of Commerce and Arts Council outlined holiday programming at the Nov. 21 council meeting. Chamber Director Diane Bachmann said the tree-lighting will be Friday, Nov. 22 at 6:30 p.m., that area businesses donated 50 coupons for the festivities, and that the Arts Council will provide a hot chocolate bar and Christmas karaoke; organizers are also planning a February murder-mystery event and are considering a rough-stock rodeo for 2026.
Library Director Tara Engel reported about a recent children’s event attended by roughly a dozen kids that included the State Librarian and Rescues Unlimited; she said the library will hold a Roger Wonnenberg meet-and-greet and book sale the following Saturday and that employee evaluations will be delivered before the mid-December meeting. Police Chief Ryan Cook said departmental business is normal, that a separate investigation regarding cell phones is ongoing, and that the department is assisting with Santa letters this year.
