Veolia provided the board with a monthly operations briefing and an update on repairs and staffing. The company reported replacing an airline in aeration basin No. 2, maintaining reliable treatment performance with “zero violations, zero SSOs,” and treating 8.713 million gallons through the wastewater plant. Veolia also said it offered one full‑time position to a local resident, with a tentative start date of July 6.
On the water side, Veolia said the plant was offline for 10 days while crews tied in a temporary wasting line and cleaned wasting tanks, explaining that the town purchased 8.6 million gallons of water during that period. “We produced an average of 604,000 gallons a day through the water treatment plant,” the representative said. Staff also reported reducing salt use from 80 tons to 40 tons per month and pursuing pricing to replace sand‑filter media.
Commissioners and residents praised a recent town hall on water issues and urged the city to make educational material more accessible. A commissioner asked whether Veolia could release internal training slides; Veolia said it would “get with Dustin and Lindsey and work with them and see if I’m able to legally release those Veolia Academy slideshows and presentation to the public.” The board heard that TCEQ’s final approval of the permanent wasting line remains pending and that the utility’s goal is to CCTV 20% of sewer lines each year to detect blockages and remove debris.
