"The total for this year is $2,712,500," the presenter said, and added the district has re-scoped older projects after a referendum that removed about $29 million from the capital improvement book. The presenter described the removal as a way to "right-size" the district and focus remaining capital dollars on active schools.
The workshop covered a wide range of projects across elementary, middle and high schools: auditorium renovations at Central High; HVAC, roof and kitchen work at State Road; geothermal wells and solar panels at Hogan Elementary; playground and flooring replacements; and district-wide safety and access-control upgrades. Staff emphasized timing is often selected to capture lower bids, noting many projects are planned 12 to 18 months in advance.
Board members asked targeted questions on scheduling, ADA compliance and budgeting. After the workshop presentation, the board voted to move into a closed session to consider a superintendent evaluation under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c).
