At the meeting Dr. Engle presented the OE9 monitoring report covering the district's communications with the public and key stakeholders. He described indicators for timely information flow, two-way engagement with representative groups, emergency communications and the publication of an annual progress report with links to state DPI performance data and the adopted budget.
Dr. Engle listed the district's communication channels and partner groups: newsletters, website banners and drop-down menus, PTOs, a facility advisory committee, parent groups, student meetings, local media outreach and community partnerships (Boys & Girls Club, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, YMCA and others). "The superintendent shall ensure that the public is adequately informed about the condition and direction of the district," Dr. Engle said while reviewing OE9 indicators.
He also noted limits in local media capacity, saying the district continues to submit releases weekly but local outlets have reduced staffing and publishing capacity. Board members asked clarifying questions about stakeholder representation on the facility advisory committee and how input was collected from different schools; administration said the FAC aimed for diverse representation and used surveys and targeted meetings with PTOs to collect feedback.
